Key facts The world of transportation is changing – the customer expectations are evolving: Aviation is the cornerstone of global commerce. It contributes US$580bn (8%) of European GDP and supports 33 million jobs globally. Safeguarding its myriad economic & societal benefits is crucial. At Airbus we understand the challenges and demands facing aviation, our customers and passengers. We surveyed over 10,000 people from around the world who will be passengers in 2050 to determine what will be the aviation in the future. People will travel more and more, but aviation needs to have an environmentally responsible growth. September2011Airbus Alternative Fuels Page 2
