The opportunity The Application Architect applies expertise in programming procedures to complex programs; recommends the redesign of programs, investigates and analyzes feasibility and program requirements, and often develops program specifications. Assigned programs typically affect a broad multi-user, multi-process, cross platform environment. Responsibilities of the position: Provide leadership in the planning, design, development, implementation, and operation of complex research and development software systems Highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software applications. Construct and utilize automation tools to build, analyze and test software applications. Leveraging a SDLC process to qualify and protect integrity of application version features and the safety of the developers. Develop key performance indicators to hold the team accountable for code quality, test coverage and system architecture standards. Motivate team by creating a sense of purpose to meet the goals of the business through coaching and leading by example Analyze business needs and identify effective, potential technical solutions. Provide architecture wide support for production failures and perform root cause analysis on major incidences. Provide knowledge transfer on current technologies and application design methodologies to junior level staff and stakeholders. Assume basic project team lead tasks from task planning through implementation of small systems or components of larger complex system. Supervise junior level team members when appropriate. To join our team you will need: Education: The candidate must have a Master degree in computer Science Languages: English is a must. Any other European language is an asset Experience: 10+ years experience in applying current information technology to specific areas of the business. General knowledge of a broad business process. Skills & Qualifications: Be able to work independently under overall objectives, prioritization and direction. Possess leadership, organizational, communication and time management skills. ITIL knowledge is a plus. Participate as an active team member, providing value-added input that others can learn from. Practice effective listening skills. achieve all information technology objectives through use of approved standards and guidelines. Affect creation of new guidelines when needed to support new technology tools and business processes. This position interacts with all levels of Information Technology staff, all levels of management from either group and with external customers to consult on technical or business process expectations.
