SIAGUA is an information network supported by a national focal point (NFP) that act like national information systems and with an international focal point (IFP) that coordinates and integrates the network. SIAGUA is a virtual community that organizes itself Without hierarchies, opened and decentralised With a responsible institution and a coordinator in each NFP With a general system coordinator (NFP of Spain, Hispagua) With a guide of style to harmonize contents, designs technologies and software tools Financed in each NFP by its respective country

SIAGUA Is an information instrument of exchange, knowledge and sustainable water management resources of the Latin American countries through Internet.

How SIAGUA functions ? Each national focal point (NFP): Compiles and structures information in its existing country relative to the water resources It selects, it organizes and it elaborates the information of regional interest to incorporate it to the IFP of the Latin American information system on Water.

What is the national interest to have an NFP in SIAGUA? Facilitate communication and develop synergies between the institutions or organizations working within the water sector in the country Improve mutual knowledge of players within the sector Meet the new information technologies to improve communication and make better management of local water Exchange experiences and develop local / regional SIAGUA member countries
