5- Median = exactly in the middle line or median plane. 6- Medial = nearer to the median plane. 7- Lateral = away from the median plane.
21
8-Proximal nearer to the root of the limb. 9- Distal away from the root of the limb.
22
10- Superficial: towards the skin or the surface of the body. 11- Deep: further away from the skin or the surface of the body.
23
12- Internal (inner) = towards the cavity of a hollowed organ. 13- External (outer) = towards the surface of a hollowed organ.

Planes
27
HORIZONTAL PLANE: It is a transverse plane, which runs horizontally cutting the body into: Upper (superior) Lower (inferior) parts.
28
Planes MEDIAN ( SAGITTAL) PLANE: It is the vertical plane, which passes in the middle line of the body dividing it longitudinally into right & left equal halves
29
Planes CORONAL PLANE CORONAL PLANE : It is the plane, which cuts the body vertically into: an anterior part towards the front of the body a posterior part towards the back of the body.
