Industrial Revolution Machines did work, urbanization More sedentary Altered diets More meat Transported food Emergence of new diseases Diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, obesity More time = more thought = even more technology!

Biomedical Revolution “Germ Theory of Disease” Microbes cause disease! Better medicine - antibiotics Better sanitation Sterile surgery Medical technology

Information Age “Smaller world” More information into more hands quicker Surge of technology Obesity much more prevalent Longer life spans Huge increase in time = huge increase in thought = huge increase in technology
