About the Institute: Established in 1986 in loving memory of Seth Balkrishan, a renowned philanthropist of the region. For the past 30years, BIT has been providing excellent education in the field of engineering. BIT was set up as the first self financed engineering institute in erstwhile Madhya Pradesh has now shaped as one of the most sought professional institutes in the central region. BIT has produced maximum number of doctorate degree holders in the state leaving behind other professional institutes far behind. It also organizes a National Level Fest “OJAS” which is the perfect blend of technical, cultural and sports.

About “OJAS’’ “OJAS” is the annual fest of “BHILAI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY “ organized generally in Feb/March every year. It was founded in 2011 by a group of Enthusiastic students and is currently in its 5 th edition. “OJAS” is the only fest which comprises events from every fields viz Technical, Cultural as well as Sports. It gives students a National Level platform to develop their professional skills like management, organizing and to utilize their knowledge in real world.

Being the oldest college of the state, “OJAS” enjoys the privilege of being oldest fest of the state which has gained the popularity across India. We have continuously expanded from 700 participants in our 1 st edition to 2500+ participants in our last edition witnessing 20,000+ footfalls from more than 40 colleges and Schools from and outside state. The fest includes events from varying field like Law, Journalism, Management, Robotics, Dancing, Quiz, Singing, Sports, Acting, Automobile designing, Model Designing etc.
