Immune system bingo
2
In your spaces, enter the following words in any order you wish: - Integumentary System- Plasma Cell - Skin- Memory Cell (B or T) - Pathogen- Histamines - Inflammatory Response- Helper T Cell - Saliva, mucus, and tears- Macrophage - Fever- Circulatory System - Antibodies- B Cell - Antigens- Cytotoxic T Cell
3
The largest organ in the body and the first line of defense against illness and injury.
4
Body fluids that contain enzymes that break down bacterial cell walls.
5
Bind to infected body cells and destroy them.
6
Released by mast cells, cause increased blood flow to an infected area.
7
The body system composed of the skin, hair, and nails.
8
Causes an infected area to become red and painful.
9
Increased body temperature. Causes some pathogens to slow down or stop growth.
10
Activate B cells, activate cytotoxic T cells, and produce memory T cell. They are themselves activated by binding to a macrophage.
11
Consumes pathogens and displays their antigen on their surface. Also activate helper T cells.
12
Any foreign substance that can trigger an immune response.
13
Specific to an antigen. Tag the antigen for destruction.
14
Produce plasma cells and memory B cells.
15
Any disease-causing agent.
16
Works along with the lymphatic system to transport the immune responses to the infections.
17
Release antibodies.
18
Have been created to “remember” an infection and respond more quickly than normal B and T cells.
