NIRISS Science Team Meeting Oct 2015 Goals (for NIRISS performance): 1.Characterize and verify the performance of all the modes of NIRISS (including new detector). 2.Collect data for reference files (JWST calibration pipeline, aXe, etc…). Hardware changes since CV2: new grisms (GR700XD, GR150R), new detector, new wheel motors. Important dates: Oct 21: ISIM CV3 TRR Closeout Review Oct 26: AFC/SFT and pumpdown Since CV2: new grisms, detector, wheel motors characterize all modes of NIRISS Detector Collect reference files for JWST calibration pipeline (update some in commissioning) External stimulus from OTE Simulator (OSIM): monochromatic and continuum sources, diffuser illumination (flat field) Low chamber background Overview

Updates to the Test Planning Tool (TPT). 2.OTP0.2.9.0.NIS, 0.2.9.6.NIS, 0.2.9.8.NIS, 0.2.9.3.NIS, 0.2.9.7.NIS Reach cold plateau (≈ 37.5K in CV2) Turn on NIRISS FPA heater with CECIL (Nov 22) CV3 Timeline Part 1

NIRISS Science Team Meeting Oct 2015 ASIC tuning (Nov 23-27; Thanksgiving) 1.Run 1: NIRCAM (12 hours), NIRISS, G1, G2 (7 hours each) 2.Run 2: fine-tuning (same order, shorter) 3.Analysis by ComDev 4.Quick turnaround (~24-36 hours): parallel analysis, “metrics” Actions for NIRISS team: 1.Update the bad-pixel map. 2.Future state tables: - Update SOSS sweet spot pixel (if necessary). - Update the four NRM science pixels (and subarray). NIRISS Science Team Meeting Oct 2015 Rapid turnaround and formal documentation in order to: 1.Verify requirements. 2.Characterize and assess the performance of each mode. 3.Update or change the operations. 4.Create the final pre-flight set of calibration reference files for all modes (due 6 months after the completion of CV3). Note: other analyses by the ISIM team (alignment, trending, etc…) Post-CV3 Analysis
