2 May 16th, 2001IM 2001, Seattle2 Background n SNMP has been (and still is) the IETF Standard for Internet Network Management n COPS was originally Developed for outsourcing Policy Decisions (Proposed Standard) n COPS-PR is an extension for Provisioning Policy Information (Proposed Standard) n So now we seem to have 2 technical solutions to address the same problem space
