4 NWRT Data Collection (Spring 2012) Supporting 3 Experiments (through June 30 th ) Deep Convective Clouds and Chemistry (DC3) Support NSF study. Provide multi-Doppler coverage when DC3 operations are in central OK. Severe Outbreak Collect severe/significant weather cases for meteorological evaluation of PAR capabilities. MPAR Wind Shear Detection Capability Assessment Experiment Use NWRT and other local radar assets to evaluate PAR observations of wind shear events. 15 Events collected thus far

5 2012 PARISE Phased Array Radar Innovative Sensing Experiment Purpose : Test whether rapid adaptive sampling with NWRT/ PAR increases NWS forecasters’ capability to effectively cope with tough tornado warning cases. Participants 12 forecasters from Central and Southern Regions 2 each week (expert and journeyman) over 6 weeks (June – Aug) Data Four cases (mix of Tornado and null) run in simulated real time NWRT/PAR data displayed in AWIPS II
