1. Never eat or drink anything in the lab

2. All chemicals in the lab are to be considered dangerous. 3. Do not touch, taste, or smell any chemicals unless specifically instructed to do so. 4. The proper technique for smelling chemicals is WAFTING

5. Always add acid to water and swirls or stir the solution

6. Never return unused chemicals to their original container. 7. Never remove chemicals or other materials from the lab area or class room

8. Report spills the teacher immediately so they can be cleaned properly.

Fume Safey This symbol appears when chemicals or chemical reactions could cause dangerous fumes Use a well ventilated area

GLASSWARE SAFETY Never use broken or chipped glassware Make sure glassware is clean before use and putting away Do not put hot glassware in cold water

FIRE SAFETY Never leave flame unattended

Tie back long hair and loose clothing. Remove dangling jewelry

Know the location and proper use of all safety equipment.
