During the Parents’ Evenings held on 9th and 11th November 2015, the school prefects asked parents to complete a short questionnaire about different aspects of the school. In total, the parents of 89 children gave answers to the following questions – BERKELEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

Why did you choose Berkeley Primary School for your child/ren?
50% of those who responded said it was the closest school. 36% said that it was because of reputation/ofsted report/facilities. 5% said that they chose Berkeley Primary as it was the best school in the area. 5% said that they chose Berkeley Primary because siblings had attended. The remaining 4% gave answers such as streaming for maths and literacy, Explorers Club and good facilities. BERKELEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

Would you prefer homework grids, set homework each week, or both?
10% of parents said that they prefer homework grids. 44% said they would prefer set homework each week. 37% said they would like both set homework and grids. The remaining 9% said that they did not think that any homework should be given. BERKELEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

What makes Berkeley Primary School special?
We received 71 responses to this question. It is not possible to reflect these answers as a %, but some of the comments were – All the children know and look out for each other. Dedicated staff, children are proud of their school, offers many opportunities and experiences. Great teachers, happy & kind children, excellent after school opportunities. Only school in Berkeley. Does your child/ren have hot dinners? If so what do they like about them? 47% said that their child/ren did not have school dinners. 40 % said ‘Yes’ their child/ren had school dinners. The remaining 13% said that dinners were eaten sometimes, mainly on ‘Fishy Fridays’. Curry was not popular! BERKELEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

Is your child/ren happy and do they feel safe at school?
92% said that their child/ren was happy and felt safe at school. The remaining 8% said that their child/ren sometimes did not feel happy and safe. BERKELEY PRIMARY SCHOOL
