What is electricity? Electricity Electricity is one of the fundamental forces of nature. Wherever electricity is, there is an implicit danger to your health. health

What is safety? It is an action, procedure or contrivance designed to lower the occurrence or risk of injury, loss and danger to persons, property or the environment.

Basic safety... Keep dry 1.Do not operate the electric equipment / switches with wet hand.

2. Never touch any outdoor wires with your body or any other objects.

3. Don ’ t even touch an outlet. It will result an electric shock.

4. Do not overload wall plugs. Ensure that electrical; cords are in good condition.

5. Never play with electrical cords, wires, switches, or plugs.

6.Stay away from fallen power lines. Tell an adult if you see a fallen line.

7. Never use a hairdryer or play an electrical radio or television near a bathtub or sink near overhead electrical wires

8.Don’t remove a plug from a power point by pulling on the cord ; pull the plug instead. Correct way in pulling a plug.

9. Never plug adaptors into adaptors and avoid using adaptors filled with plugs where possible.

10.Never climb utility poles or electrical towers.

11. Stay away from substations and transformers (green boxes).

12. Before you climb a tree, look up. If a power line is nearby or touching, stay away from the tree.

13. Use the correct wattage light bulb for all light fittings.

14.Circuit breakers and fuses should be the correct size current rating for their circuit.

15. Do not use damaged sockets, replace with care when necessary.

17.Don't purchase sub- standard electrical fittings to save money which may result in serious accidents. Example: Christmas light

18. Don't tie an electric switch or appliance when your hands are wet or bleeding from a cut.
