7. AGITATION (AJ-I-TEY-SHUHN) Violent moving or shaking, emotional disturbance. She was rubbing her hands in agitation.

8. ALTERATION (AWL-TUH-REY SHUHN) The process of changing, adjusting or modifying. The bride-to-be had to get alterations on her dress a week before the wedding.

9. ALOOF (UH-LOOF) Indifferent; distant physically or emotionally; reserved and remote. Some people think I am aloof, but I am actually very shy.

10. AGILITY (UH-JIL-I-TEE) The ability to move quickly. The sprinter won the gold medal because of his speed and agility.

11. ALLUSION (UH-LOO-ZHUHN) A figure of speech that makes a reference to places, people, events, or myths, either directly or indirectly. The speaker made an allusion to the speech given by Martin Luther King, Jr.
