Its calling is to love God with all of our being (Matthew 22:37). A single heart considers matters and chooses decisively his pursuit at all costs (Luke 14:28). We are to live passionately with one great objective (2 Corinthians 5:9). Christianity is a whole-heart, single-heart faith commitment.

Possess a clear, single, healthy eye so that the whole body is illuminated (Luke 11:34-36). haplous – simple, single, sincere; a singleness of purpose Jesus is Light who came to enlighten man. The outer and inner man is illuminated when his spiritual eye is trained on what is truly good – Christ and His gospel. Singleness of purpose is undivided loyalty every day.

Slaves were taught to serve masters with singleness directed to Christ (Eph. 6:5-6; Col. 3:22). haplotes – sincerity, singleness; unaffectedness, undistractedness New life purpose – one true Master Are our hearts and minds supremely fixed on the one calling, the one Person? The sincere heart is to be a one-Lord heart.

“But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity [singleness] and purity of devotion to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3 The sincere heart is to be a one-Lord heart.
