3 Types of Bullying Verbal Social Exclusion or Isolation Physical Bullying through lies and/or rumors Having money or property taken or damaged Threats or being forced to do things Racial Sexual Cyber Bullying (via cell phone or the internet)

4 4 about bullying We will not bully others. We will try to help students who are bullied. We will try to include students who are left out. If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.

5 5 In The Classroom… 1. Teachers post and enforce schoolwide rules against bullying 2. Teachers hold regular class meetings 3. Teachers hold meetings with students’ parents

6 6 Tips for Parents Never tell your child to ignore the bullying Allow your child to talk about his or her bullying experiences Do not encourage physical retaliation Contact a teacher, counselor, or principal and share your concerns about the bullying Teach your child safety strategies such as how to seek help from an adult 4.
