Magnuson-Moss Consumer Product Warranty Act 1975 Governs written warranties for all products more than $15 Sets minimum standards, rules, and provisions for lawsuits against manufacturers Enforced by the FTC

Consumer Product Safety Act 1972 Established the Consumer Product Safety Commission Monitors safety of more than 15,000 nonfood items like toys and household products When product is defective CPSC can: –Issue a safety alert –Require a warning label –Recall the product –Prohibit the sale
