The whole of the Christian life is lived in Christ. In any home the whole tone of personal relationships must be dictated by the awareness that Jesus Christ is always an unseen, but an ever ‑ present guest. He is always the third when two are joined together. In any parent ‑ child relationship the dominating thought is the Fatherhood of God; and we must treat our children as God treats His sons and daughters. The thing which settles any master ‑ servant relationship is that both master and servant are servants of the one Master, Jesus Christ. The new thing about personal relationships as Christianity sees them is that Jesus Christ is introduced into them all as the changing and the recreating factor. - William Barclay All Relationships Relate to Christ
