Jobs can be difficult to find Some people send out applications and resumes to all kinds of various companies and hope to land a job. However, you may get a job that does not fit your skills and interests. Often people quit job after job because they were not a good fit. Take a more targeted approach to job hunting and you will be more likely to find a job that fits you. The key is a little bit of simple Job Research.

Make a List List the types of jobs you think you would like. List specific job titles, or job fields that interest you. Now add your personality traits and your likes and dislikes to the bottom of your list.

Job Research Talk to people who have jobs. (Ex: Family and Friends) Talk to people who work in the fields that interest you. Search Newspapers and Magazines for job information. Use the Internet to research the jobs. Notice the key words and make sure they match up with your skills and traits.

Job Postings Use your Job list and notes to narrow your search and begin looking for Job Postings. Look in Magazines, Newspapers and Online to find jobs that are available in your area, or a desired area to move to. If you go out looking for a job be sure to dress neatly and appropriately. Be quick to act if you find a suitable job, and always double check your application for errors.

Utilize Social Media Sometimes friends may post information on a job on Facebook or Twitter. Keep your Facebook and Twitter accounts presentable for potential employers to view. There are Professional Networking Sites like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com and others. Sometimes there are fees and/or age restrictions, so watch out.
