2. Propaganda Poster Analysis Activity In your groups, you will analyze propaganda posters from WWI. You will discuss and answer the following questions for each poster. 1. Who is the intended audience of this poster? 2. a) What feelings is this poster trying to evoke in the audience? b) How is this poster evoking those feelings? (examine the colors used, words, images) 3. How does this poster support the war effort? (What does the government want the audience to do?)

4. Create your own! Now it’s time to create your own World War I propaganda poster! Base your poster on one of the following uses of propaganda: – To justify their involvement in the war to their population – To raise money to fund the military through liberty/war bonds – To encourage soldiers to enlist in the forces – To encourage people to conserve resources on the home front – To encourage people to “do their bit” on the home front Be creative! – Example: think of a catchy slogan, play on words, creative picture...
