2 Printer Issues  Today we will be doing Ch. 15 vocab.  Unfortunately there were printer issues this morning.  Therefore I do not have a vocab list for you.  You can find the words on p. 340 in your book under “Building Vocabulary”  Do not forget to draw a picture for each word!

4 Vocabulary (Sec 1)  Cordillera – mountain system made up of parellel ranges  Tepuis – formations in the steep sided plateaus of the Guiana Highlands that have been eroding for years  Llanos – vast plains of eastern Colombia and western Venezuela (2:57)

5 Vocabulary  El Dorado – known as “the Golden One” a legend that describes a marvelous rich land  Cassava – a tropical plant with starchy roots and an important food crop of Colombia

11 Angel Falls, Venezuela  Angel Falls was named after Jimmy Angel, an American bush pilot and gold- hunting adventurer, who discovered it in 1937.  The waters fall freely some 807 meters (2,648 feet) It is the tallest waterfall in the world.

Baseball, soccer, and toros coleados are popular sports.
