9. Talons: Used to sit on tree branches and grab prey. They are really sharp and sometimes long. Diet: They are carnivores and hunt mostly at night. Owls are nocturnal (awake at night and sleep during the day). Eyes : Their eyes face forward unlike other birds (their eyes are on the side). Owls eyes do not move in their sockets like ours do, in order to look around, they have to turn their whole head. Body : covered in feathers.
