2.  Gold was one of the first metals that were discovered.  It is yellow and comes in grains, nuggets or veins  It is used to make: Electronics, dentistry, coins, jewelry

3.  Silver was also one of the first metals that were found.  It is a shiny white metal. It is also found in nuggets.  Silver is used to make: Mirrors, silverware, coins, camera film, jewelry

4.  It was not discovered as long ago as silver and gold.  It is more grey than silver. It is found as nuggets, grains or crystals.  It is used to make: Car exhaust, lab equipment, jewelry, glass, petrol (gas from oil), cancer medicine, thermometers, computer hard drives

5.  This is known as “fool’s gold” because people always make mistakes in thinking that it is gold.  Pyrite is not as yellow as gold.
