2. Advantages of Using the Internet at Home and School Easy and quick access to unlimited information and resources. Using internet in the classroom makes students more engaged in learning. Teachers can post information, lesson plans, homework and other assignments online for their students. Teachers, Students and Parents can communicate easily. It is available to almost everyone, at all times of the day. The internet is constantly changing and being updated with the most recent information and news.

3. What information are the children giving while online? What sites are the children visiting? How much time are the spending on the internet while at home? Who (if anyone) is your child talking to online? Computer Viruses.

4. What Parents Can do to Help Buying good filtering systems, monitors and browsers. Keep the computer in a family room in order to watch over the things that your child is looking at. Save sites that they use constantly under a favorites or bookmark folder. Tell children that if they receive any thing through e-mail from someone they don’t know, they shouldn’t open it. Talk to your children about “cyber bullies” and NOT giving personal information to anyone over the computer in a chat room or blog. Never click yes on “Drive-by Downloads”, first check to see if the download is something legitimate.

5. What Educators Can do to Help Educate parents on internet safety. Only use websites directed towards children. Teach children to never put their personal information on the computer. Make sure their school internet is filtered. They can have their webpage's bookmarked so it is easier for the students to find. They can make sure all activity on the internet is supervised so incase something does go wrong it can be fixed right away.

Websites for More Information on Keeping Kids Safe on the Internet Web Wise Kids Web Wise Kids has developed a one-of-a-kind Internet safety education program for busy adults called Wired With Wisdom. FBI Kids This website was made by the FBI and it gives children grades K-5 internet safety tips. Kids Health This site gives parents a list of things that they can do to prevent their child from internet predators and sexually explicit materials online.
