August 6, 1945 In order to stop Japan, the U.S.A. decides to use the atomic bomb: President Truman (Roosevelt’s successor) gives the order to drop the two bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki U.S. Bomber “Enola Gay” drops the first bomb on Hiroshima, kills 70 000 instantly, another 130 000 severely wounded People vaporized, burned by radiation, crushed by collapsed buildings
