IAEA/RCA Project Design Meeting, Vienna, Austria, 21-28 November 2014 Enhancing Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Frequent Cancers in the RCA Region (RAS2014011) Working Group 6

Achievements of RAS/6/065 Distribution of basic knowledge/general understanding/expertise Proving the concept/benefits of this technology At the national level, PR for professional associations/government/policy makers/general public/medical experts: IND, MON, PHI, SRL, THA Creation of guidelines Creation of regional training hubs network: 6 countries (AUL, CPR, IND, JPN, ROK, SIN)

New Concepts of RAS2014011 This is not continuation of the previous project as this would be a project with a new modality based on achievements of the previous project. Concern is not awareness any more. Basic infrastructure is now established. Demands for using this technology has increased. To meet the new scale of demands based on the success of the first project

Improved clinical outcomes in cancer patients treated with SBRT Improved survival Improved quality of life Reduced burden of patients (cost, overall treatment duration) Cancer statistics of MSs & related IOs(WHO, IARC, etc) Institutional report of MSs The enhancement of cancer treatment in the Region through the application of Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) 5 year survival rate of the Region Cancer statistics of MSs & related IOs(WHO, etc) Overall Objective Before PDMAfter PDM Means of Verification IndicatorsNarrative Description

Outcome Before PDM Enhanced regional capacities in SBRT in the RCA region 68 radiation oncologists, 68 medical physicists, and 68 radiation therapists trained at RTCs(training for trainers) and functional as trainers at national level by 4Q2018 PPAR After PDM Provision of valuable treatment alternative for wider patient populations through usage of SBRT No. of new centers offering SBRT by 4Q2018 No. of centers offering new SBRT programs by 4Q2018 No./Percentage of patients received SBRT with proper QA/QC program by 4Q2018 1/2. National statistics, Survey, PPAR, Country report by NPCs 3. QA/QC report Means of Verification IndicatorsNarrative Description
