2 BASIS FOR THIS COURSE Millions of workers are exposed to Sulfuric Acid hazards daily. Sulfuric Acid is very safe under controlled conditions. Employees must understand the hazards of Sulfuric Acid. Each year, numerous Sulfuric Acid accidents result in death. Safety can be greatly enhanced if training is provided. OSHA Standards require: Hazards be assessed. Training be conducted. REGULATORY STANDARD THE GENERAL DUTY CLAUSE FEDERAL - 29 CFR EMPLOYERS MUST: Furnish a place of employment free of recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Employers must comply with occupational safety and health standards promulgated under the Williams-Steiger Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. OSHA ACT OF 1970
