Animation One Galaxy chocolate commercial Audrey Hepburn
3
Who is the intended audience? I think that the intended audience for this product would be adults because they would be much more likely to understand and know of who Audrey Hepburn is and to understand what the commercial is trying to put across. I think that the life style would be people who are very busy and mainly woman who like chocolate as it is usually a woman who would be more attracted to a chocolate advert than a male. I think that people watching this animation would be sophisticated. The people watching this would understand how Audrey only ate a square of chocolate a night; this is exactly what she does in the commercial, eats one square. The stereotypical people I think this would be aimed at would be people aged between 25-40 who are female. I think that they would all have different life styles. This advert was produced by galaxy and the commercial can be seen here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx9eDo76LM/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx9eDo76LM

What is the purpose of the animation? The purpose of this animation is to sell the galaxy chocolate bar and to appeal to the public. This commercial should grab the audience’s attention. The intended effect upon the audience was to sell the product that was being advertised and entertaining the public with an unusual advert. The animation was designed to encourage people to buy the product.
5
What are the features of the animation? This is an computer generated animation (CGI) This animation is one minute long (60 seconds). This animation is very realistic and the people look very life like and its very realistic, the uses of the 3D look make it appear to have been filmed and not generated on the computer. There are a few different angels on the main character (Audrey) which show her at different angels which make her look more realistic. This was played nationally as an advert on British channels for a few months and had a lot of view on you tube and became very popular. Audrey Hepburn is animated to be 3D and is animated from various different camera angels. The whole advert is not CGI however, much of the advert is captured with real life images and the CGI is then placed on top to make the advert have a more realistic approach.
6
What are the effects used? Some of the effects used would be rendering which was using certain colours and shading to make the peoples features look more realistic and life like. This also used camera angels which made it more believable this is due to the angels of the face looking more realistic at certain angels and this made it more believable. The lighting and colours on the vehicles made it look realistic because they were not overly bright they were very much like how the colours on an ordinary vehicle would be so this does not make the audience stop and think that the commercial is unrealistic.
7
Is the animation fit for purpose? I think that this animation is fit for purpose because it makes the viewer want to buy the product. The success of this trailer and amount of views would suggest that the animation was successful and fir for purpose and people were willing to buy the product and to watch the trailer because they found it interesting and liked the animations effects and what the animation was trying to put across.
8
What effect will the animation have on the intended audience? I am aware that the effect od the trailer on the intended audience would be that the audience would want to buy the product and it would also make the viewer want to be in the same position as Audrey, in a small Italian town.

‘The 3D team built the model of Hepburn, making use of the star's entire feature film catalog, plus all available press and documentary photographs as reference. However, as there was no technical lens information or measurements available for such old footage, it was quite an inexact science, involving tirelessly tweaking to refine the model from every possible angle.’ ‘The next big challenge was the look development process, which aimed to perfect the complex look of human skin. The team chose to adopt a brand new renderer, Arnold, which had not been used on such a big production in commercials before. This renderer was designed to simulate very accurately the tracing of light, and enabled the team to perfect the soft, translucent feel of real skin. Rendering in Arnold, however, also entailed adopting a completely new fur system for her eyebrows and the soft 'peach fuzz' on the face that breaks up the perfection of a raw CG render.’ Sourced from- http://www.cnet.com/news/audrey-hepburn-shines-again-in-new-cgi-ad http://www.cnet.com/news/audrey-hepburn-shines-again-in-new-cgi-ad Evidence that supports that this advert is CGI animated

Animation Two The official Disney frozen trailer
12
Who is the intended audience? This animation is aimed at young children; Children under the age of ten would be interested in this advert as is very magical and interesting for children of this age. Children of this age would be very imaginative and playful, a child of this age would be very delusional and belief in the CGI animations and would be the most astonished by the magical effects used in this trailer. I think the stereotypical children would be children who love Disney, princess and singing and magic. I don’t think that this animation is aimed at a specific gender it would be for all children however it could appeal slightly more to girls because of the magical princess aspect of the film. The intended audience would be children who still enjoy role play and often watch CGI programs on television so enjoy to watch them and that have the brain age to become very involved in the film.
13
What is the purpose of the animation? The purpose of this animation is to make people want to watch a film that is coming out to cinemas soon. This trailers purpose was to grab the attention of the public and make them look forward to the release, this will also sell the movie itself and make it look appealing and it will cause it to look appealing and worth while. The intended purpose of this animation is to make you want to watch the whole film and to sell the film to you.
14
What are the features of the animation? The features of this animation would be that the animation is two minutes and fifty seconds long, is uses Computer generated animation (GCI) This uses many different effects to attract the attention of the viewers. This a variety of different shades and textures which make all the objects appear to be 3D which makes it look as though it has been filmed and not drawn/animated. This clip was played nation wide on different sorts of screens which attracted the attention of children and adults to an unexpected amount. There is a voice over (Narration) when you are watching this clip which briefly explains what is happening during the slip, it explains about the story line and makes you want to keep on watching the clip. The voice over trails of at points to allow you to hear the music and sound effects of the clip along side the amazing clips from the film.
15
What are the effects used? There were a lot of amazing effects used during this animation clip including morphing (When the ice changes into a sculpture) and using a variety of different camera angels an, Rendering to make the people and scenery look more lifelike. They also used motion blur to that the movement looked more realistic and lifelike. The camera angels make the peoples movement look more ordinary and although it is very obvious that it is a CGI animation because of the bright colours only got set and unrealistic magical aspects of the clip it also looks very humane and realistic in the way it has been created.
16
Is the animation fit for purpose? I think that this animation is fit for purpose because it had an astronomical amount of views and was extremely popular nation wide and people all over the world still love and enjoy the film now. The effects used and the way this was put together was not only a huge success but it also had more attention than they ever expected. The purpose of this animation was to sell the film and that is exactly what the trailer had done as people were very excited about seeing the film and this caused the film to be a big success. The quality of the animation gives an amazing impression on what is happening to the characters and the 3D effects and shaded textures of the ice makes it look real and magical to the viewer.
