3. #FMH2015 THE CHALLENGE Vocational education represent 40% of the workforce in the maritime sector Forecasts indicate a massive lack of skilled labor in the future Especially a need for electricians, blacksmiths, and industrial technicians There are fewer and less talented students in vocational schools

We will increase the supply of labor and skills in the maritime sector through: Developing over 40 new maritime trainings based on industry needs Making it more attractive to become a maritime craftsman (300 graduated craftsmen in 3 years) Creating 200 new internships in maritime companies THE GOAL

The maritime industry is strong in Denmark but faces massive challenges within skills and talent attraction in the future Important to establish a collaboration between schools, vocational schools, the municipality, companies, maritime organizations and others in order to address these challenges We need to improve the image of skilled jobs in the maritime sector in order to attract more and better talented students CONCLUSIONS
