Date of the Gameshow – 19 th October. Parents are welcome to come in on this day. We will start at 1 and continue to the end of the day. Week of 8 th October – This task will just be your homework task. There will be no time in school for the task. Week of 15 th October – This task will be your homework task and IPC task in school. You will have time to work in school on the task. The aim of the gameshow is to show off what you have learnt during the unit about both the host and home country. You will be split into 4 different teams. Each team will devise various rounds for the other teams. As a result, you will be both gameshow participants and gameshow question makers. You must elect a team leader. This team leader is responsible for: - preparing a plan for the project. When will what be done? - Leading team meetings – (first meeting, update meetings, etc…) - Organising their group – who will do what? - Ensuring that everyone is contributing to the project. - How will you organise your rounds? Who will do what? - Ensuring that the research is done accurately!!! You may lose points for your team if you set a question and have the incorrect answer yourself! - Ensuring that all the resources are organised effectively by the group. Does everyone know what they are bringing? Does everyone know what they have to prepare? You must try to be creative! Try and create the best and most creative rounds that you can for the gameshow. Extra points will be given by me to teams who come up with the most creative ideas when designing rounds. You must be accurate. One of the most important stages of the project is revision and research. Don’t just make up questions from the top of your head. Look over your research and make sure the information is accurate. There must be rounds based on the host country (The Netherlands). There can be questions about your home country as well, but make sure that the questions you set are achievable. Don’t set impossible questions about your home country that no one will know. You will lose points for that. (A good way to check is to see if anyone in your group not from your home country knows the answer or is close to the answer.) Think about topic based or themed rounds. E.g. geography? History? Culture? People? Food? Etc… Try and have a mix of using ICT (computers) based rounds and non- IPC based rounds (e.g. more hands on rounds, practical, art, etc…)

Are you covering a range of topics? Are you being creative with your TYPES of rounds? Questions? Hands on? Computer based? Are you making sure that 100 points are split up between your group? ARE YOU MAKING SURE THAT YOUR GROUP ONLY TAKES 20 MINUTES IN TOTAL? Does everyone know what they are doing in their group? Have YOU made a plan? Have you set deadlines for people? Are these deadlines achievable? How will you make sure that all resources are prepared for the project? How will you total the points for each round? THIS SHOULD TAKE A SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME! It shouldn’t take 10 minutes for each round? How will you make sure that everyone has done their research properly? How will you record your planning? How will you record your organisation? Will you make it clear to the other people what they are doing? You want to avoid misunderstanding!
