5. O THER S TATISTICS 90% of people who die by suicide have diagnosable ad treatable psychiatric disorder at the time of their death. Men are nearly four times more likely to die by suicide than women. Women attempt suicide three times as often as men. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death for adults between ages eighteen and sixty-five in the United States Everyday, about one-hundred and five Americans die from suicide.
