4 Honors Criteria Honors Math and English students are automatically signed up for 7 th grade (Spring NWEA Scores are still used for placement) Honors Science CriteriaHonors Math Criteria - Enrollment in Advanced Math- Level 1 on Math MEAP - Level 1 MEAP Science test- NWEA score of 238 or above - Level 1 MEAP Reading test- Teacher Recommendation - Average grade of A- in prior Science class- Ability to work one grade level ahead Honors Social Studies CriteriaHonors English Criteria - Level 1 MEAP Social Studies test- Level 1 on Reading MEAP - Level 1 MEAP Reading test- 3 year GP Writing score of 16 or higher - Level 5 or higher GP Writing test- NWEA score of 228 or higher - Average grade of A- in the prior SS class- Teacher Recommendation - Ability to work one grade level ahead

6 Art Explorations in Art Art 2D (Drawing, Painting, Printmaking) Art 3D (clay, fibers, plaster, wood, wire, art metals) Graphic Design (computer based: photography, digital cameras, scanners, printers, design software, product/media design, communication design, advertising – all in the area of art)

7 Journalism/ Broadcast Journalism Journalism: improve both written and oral communication skills – write articles for the Parcells Post online publication Broadcast Journalism: explore both TV production and journalism fundamentals

8 Lifeskills/ Foods Lifeskills : Character development, family, childcare (egg baby), food preparation, nutrition, and sewing Life Management : explore career paths, housing (interior decorating/design), money management/budget Foods & Nutrition : study of nutrition and food preparation Health : emotional/mental health, growth & development, personal health, family health safety & first aid, nutrition, etc.

Architectural drawing using 3D Home Architect, model house building and career exploration). * Requires a pre-requisite
