3  This morning we studied “Sad Words in the Bible.”  Tonight we want to study the other side of the coin, “Glad Words in the Bible.” Prov. 12:25  These words will bring gladness to the heart of any spiritually-minded person. 3

4  Concerning sin we’re all in the same boat: 1 Jn. 3:4; Rom. 3:23; 6:23  Jesus came to remedy our lost condition: Lk. 19:10; 1 Tim. 1:15  We deserve death, but Jesus makes life possible! Rom. 6:23; Heb. 2:9; 7:25; 1 Tim. 2:5; Col. 1:21-22  The enormity of sin is seen in the high price of forgiveness: 1 Jn. 4:10  Sadly most place no value on His blood: Heb. 10:29- 31  Matt. 1:21 4

5  John 3:16: The “golden text of the Bible” eloquently and profoundly expresses the greatest truth ever revealed! Rom. 5:8  We should be supremely thankful for God’s attitude toward us: Ezek. 33:11; 1 Tim. 2:4  But, we must never mistake God’s longsuffering to mean that He will not fulfill His promises: 2 Pet. 3:7-9 5

6  Acts 10:34-35  We should be so thankful God doesn’t care about things the world thinks are so important: Job 34:19  God’s requirements are understand- able, equitable, and attainable: Rom. 2:5-11 6

7  L of M made nothing perfect: Heb. 7:19  Could not take away sin: Heb. 10:1-4  It was a “yoke of bondage”: Gal. 5:1  Now under law to Christ: Gal. 6:2; 1 Cor. 9:21  We are married to Christ: Rom. 7:4  We can have our sins forgiven and forgotten: Heb. 10:17  Hebrews 7:12: What a blessing we are no longer under the Law of Moses! 7

8  Still must work at it: 2 Pet. 3:15-16; 1 Cor. 1:26-27; Mk. 12:37  Our faith not dependent upon wisdom of men: 1 Cor. 2:4-5  Can and must test all teaching: Acts 17:11-12a; 1 Jn. 4:1, 6  Must work out our own salvation: Phil. 2:12  Must study and understand the book that will judge us: Jn. 12:48; 6:68; Rom. 2:16  Eph. 3:4: What a blessing! Psa. 119:105 8

9  Eph. 2:8: When grace meets faith salvation results: Rom. 3:23-26; Acts 18:8  Even though saved by grace, our faith is critical! Heb. 11:6  Works of faith are an absolute requirement: Eph. 2:8-10; Jas. 2:14- 26; Col. 2:12; 1 Pet. 3:21 9

10  Rom. 8:31: Any evidence for that? Gen. 1 & 2; Rom. 8:32  We can face any difficulty, any obstacle with confidence and defeat any enemy: Rom. 8:33-39; Phil. 4:6-7 10

11  1 Cor. 3:9: What a grand thought that God considers us His “fellow workers”!  Every generation has a responsibility in regards to the “Great Commission.” Mk. 16:15-16; 1 Thess. 1:8  Each of us can play a part! 2 Thess. 1:7-9; 2 Cor. 5:10; Heb. 10:31 11

12  Rom. 8:16-17: Can you imagine that?! 1 Jn. 3:2 12  Seed must reach a good heart: Lk. 8:15; Jas. 1:21  Must be born again: Jn. 3:3-5; Rom. 6; Gal. 3:27  Makes us a member of God’s family: Eph. 2:19; 1 Tim. 3:15  Must remain faithful: Col. 1:21-23; 1 Cor. 15:58  Our future blessing is an inheritance: Matt. 25:34; Heb. 6:12; 1 Pet. 1:3-5

13  Phil. 1:21: Paul was torn between two things: Phil. 1:21-24  Realize it or not, but we live this passage every day!  How? 13 “For to me to live is, and to die is.

14  Have you taken advantage of these glad words!  Almost persuaded?  “’Almost’ cannot avail; ‘Almost’ is but to fail; Sad, sad that bitter wail— ’Almost,’ but lost!” 14 “For to me to live is, and to die is.
