5 Research Park at the University of Illinois The Research Park at the University of Illinois provides an environment where technology-based businesses can work with the research faculty and students on collaborative research and access UI services.Research Park – 200 Acres adjacent to campus, developed with a private partner, 14 buildings – 1,618 employees including 521 students The Research Park has 91 companies and employs people in high-tech jobs – Fortune 500 firms: Yahoo, Caterpillar, State Farm, ADM, Grainger, Raytheon, Abbott, Dow, Deere – 45 companies currently in the EnterpriseWorks startup incubator (203 startups since it opened) 4 Research Park Employment

7 EnterpriseWorks (EW) is a 43,000 sq ft startup business incubator in the Research Park for early stage tech firms. It is operated by the University of Illinois to launch successful startups. 6 Founders: Over half of our current client companies were founded by UIUC faculty members. 93% of our clients have founders affiliated with the university. 10 IVenture Accelerator Program Launched in Summer 2015, Illinois iVenture Accelerator allows top student startup teams to spend the summer on campus with the time and support they need build prototypes, create a value proposition, test demand, research the competitive landscape, validate market size, progress in developing their startup ventures. $2,500 stipend per Fellow and up to $10,000 in seed funding per startup Mentors, workshops, and competition for additional funding Co-working space at Research Park designed to maximize productive collisions between Fellows and the broader community 36 students and 13 startup companies – 24 majors and minors represented Engaging with Chicago startup ecosystem: visits to 1871, Chicago Innovation Exchange, Matter, Chicago TechWeek Space available to teams now in Grainger Library 9

11 Entrepreneurship Forum The Provost's Roundtable on Entrepreneurship annually holds a campus- wide Entrepreneurship Forum, highlighting the breadth of entrepreneurial activities across campus for faculty, students, and academic professionals. This day-long event allows attendees to participate in hands-on workshops and panel discussions to learn about topics such as: the Lean Startup Method, How to Fund your Company and the Impact of Social Entrepreneurship, and to participate in networking opportunities. Cozad New Venture Competition Finals and the announcement of the $20,000 Illinois Innovation Prize (IIP) winner take place during the Forum. 2016 Entrepreneurship Forum: Thursday, April 28 th 10
