Pregnancy The females of the species carry the pregnancy. The gestation period can be anywhere from 112 to 158 days long. The baby red pandas are birthed just like humans. The babies are born deaf and blind. A few days before birth, mothers will collect material to build a nest that is normally located in a hollow tree or rock crevice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wALa AKoBdZo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wALa AKoBdZo

Offspring Red pandas are raised by only their mother. On average, 1-4 cubs are born during each birth. The red pandas survive by learning from their mothers. They learn to only eat the youngest, and most tender shoots and leaves of bamboo. Many red pandas don’t survive to adulthood due to a loss of habitat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v =kOH27QkTVv4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v =kOH27QkTVv4
