What do you think will happen if the plant was watered, but kept out of the light for several weeks?
3
Consists of adenine, a 5 carbon sugar called ribose, and three phosphate groups. ATP- is one of the most important compounds that cells use to store and release energy.
4
ATP can easily release and store energy by breaking and re-forming bonds between phosphate groups. This characteristic of ATP makes it exceptionally useful as a basic energy source for all cells.
5
Cells use ATP to store and release energy to carry out active transport. http://app.discoveryeducation.com/search? Ntt=ATP http://app.discoveryeducation.com/search? Ntt=ATP
6
Membrane protein that uses ATP to pump sodium ions (Na + ) out of the cell and potassium ions (K + ) into the cell
7
Cells regenerate ATP from ADP as needed by using energy in foods like glucose.
8
Organisms that obtain food by consuming other living things. Some eats plants Some obtain food from plants indirectly by feeding on plant-eating animals. Ex. Cheetah eats a hare
9
Organisms that make their own food. Use light energy from the sun to make their own food.
10
Photosynthesis- conversion of light energy into usable energy in plants stored in the bonds of carbohydrates. CO 2 + H 2 O + Energy C 6 H 12 O 6 + O 2
