Week 1: they’re, there, their they’re: a contraction of “they are” Example: They’re going to the ballgame after school. there: an indication of place; The word “there” contains the word “here.” If you can substitute the word “here” then you should use “there.” Example: My new shoes are over there in my closet. their: belonging to others Example: My twin cousins are having a birthday party at their house. Week 1: two, too, to two: the number that is also written as 2; Example: Every even number can be divided by two. too: means “also” or “in excess”; Think “extra.” The word has an extra “o” in it. Examples: Yes, I like pizza too. There are too many people in this small room. to: a preposition; Use it when you do not need “two” or “too.” Example: Please give this note to your teacher.
