The Student Lighthouse Team Role

How We Got into Student Lighthouse
Two students were chosen from every class, except Kindergarten & 1st grade to interview for the position. It was a five step process: -Teacher Recommendation -Student Application -Parent permission/contract -Interview process -Letter of Acceptance (sent by postal mail) Students were interviewed by Mrs. Ground, Principal; Mrs. Hicks, Guidance Counselor; Mr. Kirtley, FRC Coordinator; and Mrs. Smith, Curriculum Coordinator. 12 students were picked out of 24 students. Students serve from and will train the next group of Student Lighthouse Team Members.

Our Mission Statement We are a group of students that come together and represent our school, teachers, fellow students, and community. We work to become better leaders and give back to others.

In this school’s Lighthouse team, we give back to our community We make school decisions We set up school fundraisers

What We Discuss in Our Lighthouse Meetings
We discuss how to make our school and community a better place How to make our fundraisers better and more improved We talk about upcoming events

What we should think about ourselves after the year is over. . .
Our role to the Student Lighthouse Team means a lot. We were chosen to lead our school to success in many ways. At the end of the year we hope to look back and remember what we have accomplished.
