Health Services Manager/Administrator for the 908 th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama; providing oversight to command staff planning functions and medical readiness programming for over 70 personnel. Resides in “The Pride of the Swift Growing South” and Married to Soror Garrysa Wilder Caffey

5. Our Mission Statement The brothers of Phi Beta Sigma are the Fraternity’s most valuable resource and strength. They are the primary means by which the Phi Beta Sigma objectives will be achieved. In order to accomplish the Fraternity’s objectives, it is essential that systems are instituted that effectively embody “Culture For Service and Service For Humanity” and promote brotherhood, scholarship and service.

To optimize Phi Beta Sigma’s effectiveness, the Fraternity will: ● Ensure that the Fraternity programs are focused and committed to serving humanity. ● Encourage a closer and mutually beneficial working relationship with fellow Greek Letter organizations, other community service organizations, businesses and government.

8. Characteristics of Great Programs Well Planned –Budget –Appropriate Skill Sets –Timely Promotion –Use of all available forms of Media (Print, Email, Social) – One Chief (Chair for the event) –Willing Indians (Manpower)

9. The 5 W’s of Success Who is your audience? What is your desired outcome? When are you planning on having your event? Where will your event be held? Why are you having this event?

Characteristics of Great Programs Purchase any materials i.e conference bags, conference gifts, invite dignitaries and receive their RSVP, submit and solidify master invoice with venue Secure entertainment; i.e. dj, and touch base with all vendors. Make sure everyone is meeting your deadlines A Quality program; make sure that the actual program is well prepared. Reread the program many times over to ensure that there are no errors on the programs Another big item is registration. If you are having a registration for the event ensure that you over registration process two months prior. Make sure procedure is effective and all data is accurate

11. The Program is over… What do we do now? –Follow up with those who supported you –Do an After Action Review –Get feedback from those attendees –If the event was successful, plans to set it up as a signature event annual/biannual –And Most of All Complete the…..

Looking at our chapters globally, knowing that we as an organization are positively impacting communities.
