Asset Management System
Asset management is a systematic process of maintaining, upgrading and operating physical assets. An asset management system allows you to find any assets held by the organisation, borrow them and return them once you have finished with them. Also if you have appropriate privileges you can add, delete or modify existing assets, and customise and manage the way the assets and locations are described. It’s a good way to gain control over inventory.

Much like the one in LIT where the computers have a barcode or id tag which will tell you when it was bought, the price, who bought it etc. The ER diagram on the next page shows a typical asset management system.
