3. Homeless  There are Over 18,000 Homeless People in Metro Detroit  Of those 18,000, 30% are chronically homeless and 25% are children. Nearly half of the homeless population in Detroit are families.  Homeless get some of their food from soup kitchens some people line up to get a bed in a shelter, but have to leave the next morning.

Native American  39% of Native Americans are illegal  Some live on reservations  Most continue to celebrate traditional native culture  There are around 48,000 Native Americans in Detroit  There are about 395,000 Native Americans in Michigan  Native Americans bring along with them there culture such as foods and traditions

Latin American  Usually live in poverty  Some live in Mexican communities  Some are illegal immigrants who crossed the border illegally  Those who immigrated legally work and live in our community  Bring over their cultures to the U.S  sometimes come to start a new life  many central americans open traditional restaurants and bakery.
