What does fiction mean? Fiction: Narrative, explanatory material, or belief that is not true or has been imagined or fabricated The category of literature, drama, film, or other creative work whose content is imagined and is not necessarily based on fact.

What makes a Great fictional/narrative Paragraph? The plot has a beginning, middle and end. The character, settings, and problem are introduced at the beginning. The characters try to solve a problem in the middle. The problem is resoled in the end. Vivid details paint a clear picture for readers. The character’s feelings add suspense and get the reader involved in the narrative’s action.

Vivid Details Writers use vivid details to make their fictional narratives stronger. Vivid details help the reader picture exactly what is happening. They make writing sound more interesting and exciting Why are the author's sentences more interesting and exciting?

Exploring a topic A good plot contains a problem that the characters must solve. A writer uses actions and suspense to make the reader interested in what happens next. One way to gather ideas for the plot of a story, or fictional narrative, is by using a list to organize ideas. Example:

Planning A good plot introduces the characters, setting and problem at the beginning. The middle tells how the characters try to solve the problem. The end tells the resolution, or how the problem is worked out. Readers like a resolution that answers all their questions. Which end tells how the problem is resolved? Why is it better?
