17825 Sterling Glen Lane Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 November 13, 2009 Dear Mom and Dad, Hey mom and dad hope everything is well with you guys. I’m writing to you because I have been thinking about what I want to do in the future and I think I have figured out something that I would like to do before I die. I have decided that I would like to walk across America and use little to no transportation methods besides walking. At most I might use a train to possibly cross a river that is to dangerous to try to swim across. Some of the places that I plan on going with him include L.A. California, Yellowstone National Park, New York, Miami Florida, South Carolina, Las Vegas Nevada, and I would also like to visit the national monument Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Throughout the trip I will take that of which I can carry, this includes items such as a backpack filled with clothes, food, blanket and a small travel size tent. I will also be bringing along my trusty companion Rex who is a 7yr. old, blue eyed, Siberian husky. The reason for me doing this is because it gives me a reason to try to accomplish something that little to no people have done before. I’m also doing this to get in touch with nature and to also make great memories and to one day tell stories about this great journey. I know this might not make that much sense to you right now and you probably think I’m crazy in going through with this. Don’t worry though I assure you that I will be fine throughout the whole journey. Also to let you know how I’m doing I will write to you at any opportunity I get. I know this is a lot to take in at once but I hope that you understand my reasoning for doing this and I hope that you support me throughout my journey. Love always, James Romanowski

L.A. California November 17, 2009 - Today I will begin my journey by starting out in Los Angeles California. Los Angeles was founded in 1781. Their state flower is the bird of paradise and their state tree is the coral tree. Also while I’m here I plan on visiting the Los Angeles International Airport because it is the third largest airport in the world. http://budgetlexicon.files.wordpress.com/200 8/07/los-angeles.jpg

Yellowstone park Wyoming November 18, 2009 – The second place I plan on visiting is Yellowstone National Park Wyoming. Yellowstone is the worlds first National park and it became a park in 1872. The park also is a area of 3,400 square miles so it could take a while to navigate. But while I’m there I plan on visiting Old Faithful which is a geyser that erupts about every 94mins and when it does it expellees about 3,700 – 8,400 gallons of water each time.

Las Vegas Nevada November 19, 2009 – Today I will arrive in Las Vegas Nevada which is mainly known for its’ gambling and entertainment. A fact though that I thought was pretty cool was that the first licensed casino was in 1931. Las Vegas is known as the city that never sleeps because people are constantly doing things 24/7 in the city. I also will walk the streets at night to see all the lights on the main strip which get their electricity from the Hoover Damn.

New York City November 20, 2009 – Today I’m going to be visiting New York City. New York City is a busy city that has about 722 miles of subway track that a lot of the city uses daily. The size of New York is also 54,475 square miles. Also this is were the Subway sandwich shops had first originated. Another interesting fact about New York City is that is was the United States first capital in 1789.

South Carolina November 21, 2009 – Today will be traveling to south carolina.
8
Miami Florida November 22, 2009 – On my last day I will be visiting Flordia, also known as the sunshine state
