2 Lesson 1: What are Verbs?  A word that tells what people or things do is a verb.  Verbs are words that show action. Example: Ella bought a ticket.

3  Every sentence has a subject and a predicate.  The main word in the subject is often the noun.  The verb is the main word in the predicate. Example: The driverstopped.
