Lesson 1: What are Verbs? A word that tells what people or things do is a verb. Verbs are words that show action. Example: Ella bought a ticket.

Every sentence has a subject and a predicate. The main word in the subject is often the noun. The verb is the main word in the predicate. Example: The driverstopped.
