Tyler County High School was constructed in 1908 to serve all of Tyler County as an educational institution.

It is unique because it was the first County High School in the state of West Virginia. Tyler County High School was an active educational facility from the fall of 1908 till the fall of 1993.

In the fall of 1994 the Tyler County Heritage & Historical Society obtained the Tyler County High School and turned it into a museum to preserve the history of Tyler County.

This is a one-room schoolhouse, which was located in Ross Run, was attended by Governor Cecil Underwood, who was the youngest and oldest governor elected in WV.

This is an old cabin from the Williamson family, whom the town of Friendly was named after. (Friend Williamson)

This is a very old Spinning Wheel in the loom room in the Tyler County Museum.

This is a Tyler County Sign, which gives important information on the history of Tyler County.

This is a replica of a general store that existed in the county.

This is another rare item from the general store, it is an old barber’s chair.

This is a large loom from the loom room of the Tyler County Museum, it was used to weave rugs and blankets.

This is old movie projector equipment which originated from the old Paramount Theater in Sistersville.

This is an old horse drawn buggy from the farm room.

This is a replica of the Little Sister Well. The oil derrick still stands near the Ohio River in Sistersville.
