5 Karma and Rebirth http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningzone/clips/tibet an-buddhist-beliefs-about-life-after-death-pt- 2-2/8445.html Watch this clip and add some more information to your mind map.

6 Check your understanding... Rebirth is the belief held by Buddhists. There do not believe there is an atman/soul that moves from one body to another. However, there is a sense of continuity between the two lives – this is like a candle being lit from another candle. Your karma that is passed on will depend what you are reborn as. There are six realms you can be born into, the human realm is the highest. The ultimate goal is to reach nirvana. Is your understanding of these statements red, green or amber?

7 How can Buddhists escape the cycle of rebirth? Four Noble Truths... 1. We all suffer 2. We suffer because we crave and want things. 3. It is possible to have happiness by getting rid of craving. 4. We do this by following the Eightfold Path and the Middle Way.

8 So what is the Eightfold Path There are going to be eight groups. Each group is going to be given one part of the eightfold path. You will need to read about it and then come up with your own example to illustrate what this would look like in daily life. Write your example on your segment. When you have finished come and stick your segment on the board.
