2 This is going to hurt me a lot more than it’s going to hurt you?#*%@??!!? Why don’t we like to be punished? Why don’t loving parents enjoy punishing?

3 Why does God want those in authority to discipline us when we are disobedient to them?

4 When are we guilty of sinning against those in authority over us? 1 Samuel 2:25 2 Kings 2:23,24 Numbers 16:12-15 We sin against those whom God places over us when we disobey them, dishonor them, or make them angry.

5 What does God want his representatives to do when we sin? 1 Samuel 3:13 Proverbs 13:24 2 Timothy 4:2 God wants his representatives to stop us while using patient instruction and punishment if necessary.

6 How does such discipline serve as a blessing for me? Proverbs 23:13-14 Hebrews 10:31 It can be a blessing by keeping my soul from falling under God’s punishment in hell.

7 When only does God want me not to obey those whom he places over me? Acts 5:29 God does not want me to obey them when they ask me to do something contrary to his Word.

8 God’s Word and My Life Some parents or teachers lose their tempers very easily. When we know this, it’s fun to see if we can do something to get them to"blow their Agree or disagree? God wants us to obey, but we can’t honor government officials who are dishonest or immoral. Agree or disagree? A Christian child will be glad when he is disciplined.

11 Why does God want those in authority to discipline us when we are disobedient to them? God wants those whom he places over us to discipline us in order to stop us from sinning and maybe even losing our souls in hell.
