Student Data Reports Central Lakes Regional Planning Team, December 2015
2
Why do we complete Student Data Reports? Requirement of our funder, the School College Work Initiative Approvals for next year are tied to our actual student numbers, their retention and success in dual credits Accuracy is VERY IMPORTANT
3
What do I need to complete a Student Data Report? Student information via a status sheet, information sheet Essential that you understand a student’s situation prior to dual credit Copy of class roster, ideally with final marks Dual Credit Data Collection blank form
4
Dual Credit Data Form Start by entering your course name, location, faculty and dual credit teacher at the top.
5
If you have 2 school boards, name the spreadsheet tabs by board. Right click on the tab, choose “rename” then enter the school board name on the tab. Repeat for the second board on the second tab.
6
Enter students by age and sex. Student age is as of December 31, 2015. “Started” is defined as all of those students who remain on the class roster after the withdrawal period.
7
Enter the number of students who finished the course. “Finished” is defined as still attending when the course is complete. A student who did not withdraw and who stopped coming to class did not finish.
8
The number you enter as finished is automatically populated in two other spots. The number of students who finished is equal to the number of secondary credits that could have been earned and the number of college courses that were attempted. Only Level 1 Apprenticeship courses are different.
9
Enter Student Profile information as accurately as possible. Students should be counted in more than one category if applicable. Most if not all of your students are considered disengaged. Remember this is prior to entry. Check status sheet or board info. If a student is in an unrelated SHSM or OYAP, count them in that section anyway. We have a few programs designed for SHSM students; check with Michelle. Those students may be disengaged.
10
Disengaged numerous absences has already or is at risk of dropping out out of school but reluctant to return to secondary school for non-academic reasons lack of involvement/engagement in school or community activities sees little connection between secondary school program and preferred future lacks confidence in ability to succeed unsure of pathway beyond secondary school in need of career clarification Underachieving under-credited: off-track to graduate in 4/5 years overage for grade level was making progress but progress has slowed marks in courses declining Evidence of disengaged and underachieving
11
Enter the secondary and college credits earned. The number of credits earned must be the same as the number of credits earned on a class roster that includes marks. The secondary credits and college courses are the same except for Level 1 programs.
12
For Flex School within a College teachers only Enter the number of attempted secondary credits. This does NOT include dual credits. Enter the number of earned secondary credits. Please provide this information by the end of January.
13
