 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.  Hebrews 11:6  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.  John 3:16  Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”  John 6:29

 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.  John 8:24  But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.  John 20:31  They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”  Acts 16:31  For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.  Galatians 3:26

The Holy Spirit defines faith as assurance and conviction (Hebrews 11:1).  Having to do with acceptance, reliance and trust in someone and/or someone true and trustworthy.  Not without reason, evidence or data.  Romans 1:20; 10:17

Jesus saw believers’ faith (Mark 2:1-12).  God is invisible to physical sight, but faith is to be seen.  Four men’s faith was visible because they took the appropriate action.

Faith that has no works is dead (James 2:17).  Faith is shown by appropriate works (James 2:18).  Inactive faith is compared to demons (v. 19).  Abraham believed and was justified by his works when he obeyed (vs. 21, 23).  “You see a man is justified by works and not be faith alone.” (v. 24)  Example (John 12:44, 48)

Is Jesus seeing faith by the works we are doing? Or is ours a dead faith?  Conversion to and fellowship with both require works of faith – doing what the Lord says (Luke 6:46).  Examples of conversion (Acts 16:33; 22:16).  Examples of faithfulness (Philippians 2:12; Galatians 5:6; 1 John 2:3).
