3 I. Self Esteem The confidence, pride, and respect one has for oneself. Self-esteem consists of five domains.

4 A. Identity Who you are. This includes personality, attitudes, and beliefs.

5 B. Connection The need to belong and feel appreciated.

6 C. Competence Knowledge of what you can do.

7 D. Purpose Having goals and making progress toward reaching them.

8 E. Power Self-control over thoughts, words, attitudes, choices, and actions.

9 II. Self-Centered Behavior Behavior in which a person acts in ways to fulfill their own needs and desires with little regard for other’s needs and wishes.

10 III. Self-Destructive Behavior Behavior in which a person harms themself. Behaviors include: –Drug use –Alcohol abuse –Self-abuse

11 IV. Self-Loving Behavior Healthful and responsible behavior that indicates a person believes they are worthwhile and loveable.
